Most of us Americans know amazingly little about the diverse regions of our nation, and are parochial fans of where we live. Hardwick's book is an important one because there are oddly almost no other textbooks|About the Author|Susan Wiley Hardwick is professor emeritus at the University of Oregon where she specializes in the geography of North America, urban and cultural geography, and the geography of immigration.  Susan has authored seven other books and
